It's been a while.

It has been a while since I posted on here....

I do apologise, it's been ever so busy over here recently. I had a wonderful day on Saturday at a Christmas Market here: www.Cafe164.com/news/

If you haven't already been here, I thoroughly recommend it. It's a great gallery with a lovely cafe attached to it.

I met some very nice people....thanks for stopping by my stall to chat!

I was lucky enough to be sitting next to 'that old chestnut'. They are vegan cake makers, who make the most delicious cakes I have ever eaten. If you ever see them anywhere, do sample some of their ginger cake, it's the best!

I hope you're all excited about Christmas.

A few....

Well, what a busy November it has been so far!

I bought this green chair today! Do you like it? There's a sofa on it's way too. I'm not looking forward to carting it up the stairs. I'm sure it will be worth it though.

I am busy making lots of fabric brooches for the Designers Makers Handmade Christmas Shop. You can see the flyer above. There will be lots of treats for sale here, and it's on for four weeks! I thoroughly recommend popping down if you are in the area.

I am also taking part in a Christmas market in Leeds, on Saturday the 10th of December. It's at a lovely gallery. Take a peek at their website..... I hope to see you there!

Also.....I got this pub-like table for my birthday and I love it!

A view from our flat.

I think we are pretty lucky to look out onto trees like this. I do have to stand on my tiptoes or a small box to see out of all our windows, but it is definitely worth the effort!

I like Autumn. The smells, the colours, the sunshine.

I am drawing some Autumn inspired illustrations for an exhibition at Leeds Gallery this evening. It's rather fun. I hope you are enjoying yourselves.

Girls Girls Girls

It's another sunny day. I very much like crisp Autumn days.

I told you before that I have been trying to add a feminine touch to my work. Here are some new drawings of girls. Hurrah!

A sunny day...

A sunny day for printing!

Here is a sneak peak of a few of my prints which will be included in the Pop Up Print Shop at SMUG. Camden Passage, London.

I am at the printers now looking out of the window and it's a beautiful sunny day. The trees look happy. Do pop down to SMUG if you can...

I hope you are having a nice day too.

Animal friends.

I am a collector of those small 'Obervers Books.'

I often hunt for them in my local charity shops.

Sometimes, I like to just sit and read them and draw from them. I am just about to read 'Notes From Walnut Tree Farm' by Roger Deakin and I am most excited about it. He seemed like a nice man.

Girls.

Whilst I was studying my my degree. A very clever man once asked me why all the people I drew were balding, middle aged men with too many chins. Since then, I have been practicing how to draw girls. It's quite a tricky subject matter for me and I'm not sure why.

Here are some recent drawings from my wee sketchbook.

New work, in my new flat.

I have been scanning and editing today.

I do not know how people work in front of computer screens everyday. It makes my eyes funny.

Anyway here are some new drawings of mine. It would appear that the 'things on top of heads' theme keeps popping up here and there.

Some more exciting news for you....

Number 1. I'm taking part in the DESIGNERS/MAKERS Christmas Market in Exmouth Market, London this year. It's on for four weeks and I'm super excited. Do pop and see it if you're from that neck of the woods. My cards and prints and other lovely things will be for sale....
I bought a mug with the Queen Mother on it today, from a charity shop for 50p. Still in it's box.

Number 2. I bought a mug with the Queen Mother on it today, from a charity shop for 50p. Still in it's box.

Pop Up Print Shop

I am rather excited to be taking part in the Pop Up Print Shop at SMUG in London.

SMUG is a wonderful shop situated in Camden Passage. From the 26th of October the lovely folk at the shop are launching a a Pop Up Print Shop, filled with lots of prints by lots of artists, including some new work by me!

If you are around at that time, I thoroughly recommend popping in and having a rifle through... You might just find yourself a treat.

(I don't have any pictures of my work right now, hence the picture of my excited nephew.)

Snippets.

Here are a few snippets of some corners of my new flat. It's a very sloped old building, with angular ceilings, which I like a lot! I bought some new little plants. Their names are Thomas, Tony, Meg and Laura-Anne. I'm very much enjoying living here.

The sun beams through the window in the morning and there's a lovely view of trees. We also have an owl that frequently visits the tree just outside our bedroom window. He hoots to us.

You can also spot Party Dog, made by the wonderful Ashley Goldberg.

I hope you are all enjoying the unexpected sunshine. New work will appear on here very soon.

Festive....

My Christmas cards are now available in my Etsy shop, for a bargain price I must add! Take a peek and get yours early...

I'm enjoying the Autumnal feeling in the air today. It's exciting!

Moving day.

It's moving day 1 today. I drew this when I couldn't get to sleep last night. I kept thinking of all the things to do today and I'm excited! It's strange, because I don't usually like the wind. It blows your hair everywhere and I always think things will fall down. I like a breeze though, but that's different. Maybe I was thinking about the winds of change whilst I was drawing, without realising it.

Enough of my rambling now. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Tuesday 6 September 2011

I feel yellow today.

This is a poster I am working on. It features some of my fabric friends.... There will be nine little faces when I am finished.

I am happy today!

I just found out that the estate agents decided to say 'yes' to Mark and I moving into our new flat. I'm excited.... Although it's completely unfurnished, so we need to buy a bed and a fridge and the like. I'm looking forward to shopping for mismatch chairs and things in charity shops. It's down a really good street with nice bars and shops and cafes.

Hurrah.

I also feel happy because today would have been my first day back at work, but instead I have been drawing, painting, sewing and listening to super music. Things are moving forward.

I like to draw.

I really do. That's it really.

Friday 26 August 2011

I need to make a list!

Hello there.

Well! My head is full up with lots of things to do. As you know I recently left my job to begin working freelance. It's rather scary, but I have been enjoying getting stuck into producing some work. It does however, remind me of the wonderful studios at Cambridge School of Art.... How I would love one of those now. Here are some recent ponderings.....

The ones that say 'SMUG' are some possible designs for SMUG-a beautiful shop in Camden.

Birds playing brass instruments? Wouldn't that be a treat.
These are only photographs of my work, so please excuse the quality. Next week will be a scanning week.

Great News!

You can receive FREE shipping all week in my little Etsy shop.

I know it's still Summer, but.....

Here are a few of my designs for my Christmas cards this year. I can't help drawing little birds. They have such character and I can draw them whilst sitting in the garden. I always imagine them wearing little outfits. Especially the male sparrow, he looks like he would wear a top and and carry a small cane under his wing.

These birds are getting ready for the festive season, as you can see. I'm quite excited to get them printed and packaged.

Also, remember these funny creatures?

They might just make a reappearance again this year.
